Documentation Officer with AROHEAN *
Based in Mumbai, India with frequent travel to the field.
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Compile, organize and update reports and available documentation of the project;
  • Assist Project Coordinator to prepare quarterly progress report, annual progress report, and other reporting requirements;
  • Support MIS Officer in documenting processes and learnings obtained through the program management and its implementation on the ground;
  • Prepare communication strategy and tools for the project;
  • Ensure effective communications, visibility and knowledge management, handling organisation’s website and other socia media communication  ;
  • Support Project Coordinator and project team in preparing concept notes and other project related documents;
  • Prepare IEC materials as required by the Project in consultation with project coordinator and Save the Children;
  • Prepare stories of change, quotes on monthly basis
  • Provide technical support to the project team in producing various evaluation and knowledge products of the project;
  • Ensure proper documentation of the communications materials and knowledge products;
  • Prepare and edit press releases, programme related progress reports and documents;
  • Attend monthly project meetings with other staff
  • Ensure all case stories, photographs, reports are in accordance to organisational guidelines
Required Skills and Experience
Education:
  • The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in mass communications/ journalism or other relevant fields.
  • Knowledge of Marathi & its dialects is essential
Experience:
  • At least of two years relevant working experience;
  • Experience in communication and diffusion strategies and techniques, reporting, documentation, publication, and audio-visual material preparation in relation to conservation and development fields is highly desired;
  • Some working experience in the media and the knowledge of social development sector will be an asset;
  • Some experience in audio visuals will also be an asset;
  • Candidate should possess excellent writing, editing, and speaking skills in both English and Marathi;
  • Candidate should be well versed in the latest electronic publishing and graphics methods.
  • Candidate should be willing to travel and stay in tribal areas in northern Maharashtra (Palghar District) on a weekly basis.

Talent fairs Dancing, singing, art and story telling competitions are organised to enhance the talent and skill of young children. The challenge is organising it in on a larger scale with experts from different fields. Oraganise events in schools covering 500-1000 children Mokhada
Collect books to develop a library for tribal children We have set-up libraries in schools to encourage reading habits among young children. Getting books on different subjects however, is a always challenge. Book collection drive in your workplace, neighbourhood etc. Transportation will be taken care of. Infrastructure development for schools We have undertaken renovation of schools with a play-and-learn theme. School walls are repainted to create children friendly schools. Science laboratories and playgrounds  are built to ensure space is optimally utilised for sports and recreation.  Anybody who is creative and artistic can volunteer. Implement the project in two governement residential schools comprising 100% tribal children Mokhada
Volunteers to take students for exposure visits Tie-up with companies outside the tribal areas to introduce children to different professions. This will be followed by interactive sessions with the employees to understand the required skill sets for the profession. Interactive sessions with children Mokhada
Volunteers to help out at medical camps Organise medical  camps and First Aid training sessions. Adolescent girls, women, elderly, childrens, eye patients, mentally and physically challenged to be examined at these camps Mokhada
Developing street plays Write scripts and direct street plays to create awareness about various issues that affect tribals living in these remote areas Street plays in 5 gram panchayats on themes of hygiene, sanitation, education, child marriage during the ‘local market day’  that is held between October and January every year Mokhada
To help us market our Warli and agricultral products  Design marketing strategies to help farmers brand their agricultural products. Volunteers can also help our teams with photo and video documentation of our various events/ activities Organise farmer markets and handicraft fairs in selected cities for Warli and agri products One visit to Mokhada, creative inputs can be given via mail.
